From toys, to theme parks LEGO has again ventured into unexplored territory for their brand, products and customers. Their newest release is “Architecture.” A series of world famous buildings and architects such as Frank Lloyd Wright.
As far back as I can remember LEGO has been providing the pieces to fuel our imaginations. Piecing together little blocks like a three-dimensional puzzle was just the beginning. LEGO has steadily, and confidently marched forward with a smart and design-centric brand that enlightens children and adults alike. The Architecture series is a clear example.
The LEGO Architecture series is highlighted by the inclusion of two of the most famous structures by one of the most infamous architects, Frank Lloyd Wright. Brickstructures, Inc. and LEGO teamed up to produce and distribute the Frank Lloyd Wright Collection along with a variety of other architecturally significant structures.
For me this is a wonderful emotional connection to a brand. As a child LEGOs were one of the very first toys I can remember interacting with. Partly because you are forced to interact with it. They engage you in a way no toy truck or stuffed animal could even dream. These tiny pieces of plastic were literally daring you to imagine the possibilities. Now more than 25 years later, LEGO has captivated that same audience again. This time with the more relevant subject of architecture and design.
Check out the LEGO Architecture site for future building updates. I am voting to see the product line extend itself to the ultra modern Case Study Homes like the Stahl House, Eames house & Studio and, if LEGO is feeling bold, a Neutra or two. I would be first in line to make that purchase.
